I spent a weekend making a game for Minijam 100
The theme was “Overload” with the added restriction “Chaos is Everything”. My game’s concept was that you’re a robot without any capabilities, not even walking. You can pick up abilities and put them in your brain as you find them.
You can also slot in multiples of any ability increases their potency. However, if you exceed your maximum, they start to randomly pop out of your head. So to maintain that extra potency, you’ve got to frantically slot them back in just long enough to solve the challenge in front of you.
It utilized UE4’s Gameplay Abilities System to facilitate an organized way of defining abilities and the granting of them. It was a framework that I had been itching to put to use and it is every bit as capable as I thought it would be.
I was aided by my wife for design and level development and my friend AltasWolf with for audio as well as more levels.
